DESIGN-BUILD NEW NORTH FITNESS CENTER
Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, NM

The new North Fitness Center project is located within the secure perimeter of Cannon Air Force Base outside of Clovis, New Mexico. The new north Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the fitness needs of the Air Force Community. This indoor facility is approximately 54,096 SF and includes a 4-lane, 25-meter indoor swimming pool, indoor running track (1/8th mile) with stretching area, and an open workout area for diversified cardio, weight training, unit physical training and group exercise. The new facility also includes male and female locker rooms, showers, toilets and sinks, and support functions (storage, janitor’s closet, mechanical room, electrical room and other rooms). The facility also consists of a front desk/administrative area and other supporting facilities. The individual spaces outlined in the construction documents carefully follow the programmatic requirements and arrangements of the RFP.

The new Fitness Center facility is robust in its design and materials and will maintain its quality over time. In addition to creating a state-of-the-art facility for fitness and recreation, the design renews the entire landscape and integrates the site seamlessly with the surrounding campus buildings and pedestrian pathways. The design includes a selection of durable and low maintenance materials for interior and exterior; use of low-maintenance and drought-tolerant native plants and grasses to connect the site with the surrounding base landscape; energy efficient equipment throughout the facility; and use of construction materials with high recycled content manufactured and extracted regionally.
