Electrical Engineers

Effectively support electrical and multi-discipline projects by providing electrical engineering designs for power, lighting, fire alarm, and other electrical systems. Provide support during construction phases.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer working with infrastructure and building systems
  • Experience working for a MEP consulting or engineer/architectural firm designing electrical systems for facilities/buildings.
  • Experience in preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, calculations, and details.
  • Experience with commercial and/or government work
  • Experience in the use of Autodesk Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD.
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering desirable
  • PE License desirable -

Skills:

  • Strong people skills and experience in maintaining client relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people through oral and written communication
  • Ability to motivate project teams in meeting client's needs
  • Computer skills including AutoCAD, Specs Intact, Revit

Additional Requirements:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to travel

Mechanical Engineers

Effectively support mechanical and multi-discipline projects by providing mechanical engineering designs for HVAC and other mechanical systems. Provide support during construction phases.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer working with infrastructure and building systems
  • Experience working for a MEP consulting or engineer/architectural firm designing mechanical systems for facilities/buildings.

Architectural Designers

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare program and schematic proposal, project layouts and develop designs in 3D using Revit for client review/approval.
  • Perform design computations, specifications, compiles data, and elementary architectural assignments.
  • Assist with preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors.
  • Review building codes to assure that design complies with the minimum legal standards.
  • Assist in the constructions administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals.
  • Prepare finish material sample boards, physical models and graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Assists the design team on projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.
  • Editing, maintaining and expanding REVIT details and library
  • Researching new products

Additional job requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Architecture
  • Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts to their team.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is required.

Internships

BBIX is seeking full-time Architectural & Engineering Interns to assist project teams and work on a variety of projects in various stages of design and construction. This individual will perform basic design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge while working under direct supervision of more experienced staff.

  • Perform design assignments, compile data, perform design computations, prepare drawings, and inspect different features of projects in construction
  • Understand and execute “red marked” revisions
  • Develop details from sketches generated by Project Architects
  • Draft construction documents based on previously developed information
  • Demonstrate awareness of coordination with specifications
  • Demonstrate awareness of the implications of building codes and other regulatory requirements
  • Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design
  • Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
  • Work collaboratively in a cross discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and ensure integrated design approaches and solutions
  • Ability to use BIM and other computer generated design software
  • Experience with Revit preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work successfully in projects teams
  • Ability to multitask
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors program at least to the sophomore level or having graduated within 2 years at an accredited 4 year university in an architectural or engineering discipline
